By Tallmale , June 10, in Logic Pro. Does anyone know of a simple way to copy the chain of effects in one track for example a logic pro x Drummer Track to a new track so that I can use the same drum sounds with the same effects to create a brand new different drum pattern?
Or do you have to go through each effect in the first track and then manually add all these effects and their settings in the new track? You could Option-drag the track down to an empty space. A new Drummer track is created with the same settings. Logic will use the same Channel strip to play but you will get a new software instrument track instead of the drummer track.
Or you could create a new software instrument track, copy the channels strip from the drummer track and paste it onto the newly created track.
Mac mini 2. And even though I have created a track with the same settings for some reason I cannot find the Snare drum that they use in this track? Am doing something wrong? I would assume that all of the drum sounds used in the original Chi-Town drum pattern would be available on the new duplicated track right?
Is there a specific way to find out which samples they are using to layer to create this snare drum sound? When you hear a sound you like that's being used by a drummer you can convert the drummer region to MIDI and look.
It's also perfectly fine to use your ears. As usual your advice is spot on! I followed it today and I was able to replicate the snare drum sound which I wanted. If you click on one of the tabs for the drummer sound I mentioned in the Track Inspector in the Channel Strip of the specific sound a pop up appears which actually shows you which drum sounds they are using for a particular beat.
All you have to do then is select each one and layer them. They actually give you the specific notes which each drum sound can be found on as well making it idiot proof lol. Can you tell me how to copy the channel strip from the drummer track and paste it into a new software instrument track please?

Very helpful indeed. It's also a Clap and one ore two Snare samples layered at the same time. The processed data from your original trigger track will now be recorded into your new track. Once done, disable the External Instrument plug-in to avoid more processed MIDI data being recorded when you don't expect it. While I've pointed out the shortcomings of Logic not having a built-in means to send the output of MIDI effects to plug—ins not in the same Instrument channel strip, it is actually possible if you're prepared to step into geek world, but unless they know you there, it can get a bit tricky.
This involves a fair bit of knitting in Logic's dreaded Environment page in order to route the MIDI control data to the required destination, but it can be done if you are prepared to persevere with it. Open the Mixer, select all the channel strips and insert a plug-in on one of the selected channel strips.

In a Logic Pro channel strip, drag the plug-in up or down in the channel strip, or to another channel strip. Click the center area of the plug-in slot to open the plug-in window, then click the Bypass button at the left side of the plug-in window header. Add an audio effect plug-in In a Logic Pro channel strip, do one of the following: Click an Audio Effect slot, then choose a plug-in from the pop-up menu.
Option-click an Audio Effect slot. Also new in this release: more effects. These are at least in part the fruits of the acquisition of Camel Audio, whose Alchemy instrument has featured large in both Logic and GarageBand. Alchemy is probably the most popular modern product of Camel, but they made great effects here — and that team seem to have been busy.
These look nice enough, and you can mix and match for combined precision — something not generally possible with other emulations. ChromaVerb is an algorithmic effect — that is, these nice colored dots are meant to show you lots of different delays across the audio spectrum.

Once you have performed the desired bounces, create a new track in Logic Pro and place the file there in the correct position.
Drag the deactivated effects into the new track, holding down the CMD key as you do so, and reactivate them.
